Bill is a world-class, Grammy® Award winning saxophonist/ singer and producer who made his debut age the age of 21, with Miles Davis –recording 25 solo albums to date. You may have seen him walk on stage as a guest with the Allman Brothers during their last 10 years of touring or rock out with Warren Haynes, then tour Europe with the “ Bill Evans Band” “ Bill Evans Soulgrass” or “Bill Evans and Petite Blonde.” Soulgrass gained global recognition among jazz and rock fans alike, and was a melting pot of quintessential American styles, touring world wide for over 11 years, taking a break in 2015. Bill has co-lead tours with Robben Ford , Mike Stern, Randy Brecker , Simon Phillips, most recently as Fall of 2018. Bill is truly a 21st century renaissance man who can walk seamlessly from stage to stage. Says Bill ”  Im not one to sit still and rest on my laurels. I love to experience new things and push the boundaries of the music I play with the different bands I tour with. I guess Miles was the one  who inspired me when it comes to that. ” Evans draws his motivation from his many years of touring with some of music’s major tour de forces. Bill is celebrating 30 years of playing Blue Note Jazz Clubs in Japan with his own bands and is bringing a Superband with  Robben Ford, James Genus and Keith Carlock for 5 special concerts in Tokyo,  March 2019.

The Spy Killers! are their own brand of music. Where soul meets jazz and Miles meets Elvis .They have no boundaries. Whether its sci-fi soul and funk or Grooves from another galaxy, you can’t help but get drawn into their world. A Spy Killers !  concert will hypnotize you. It is something you will not soon forget. The Spy Killers ! feature drummer extraordinaire Wolfgang Haffner , young keyboard phenom Simon Oslender and Bass groove master Claus Fischer. Bill recorded the Spy Killers !  Live at the famed “ Birds Basement “ jazz club in Melbourne Australia , last October 2018, with a spring 2019 release slated. 

Wolfgang Haffner is one of the most respected drummers in the world of Jazz. He has played drums on 400 albums to date, and recorded 16 solo albums as a leader.   Says Bill “ I’ve played with Wolfgang on and off for years, and he never stops amazing me with his ability, sensitivity and groove.  He’s a one of a kind drummer as well as a great person.“

Simon Oslender is an amazing 20 year old B3 keyboard prodigy from Germany.  Says Bill of Simon “ I first heard Simon in Wolfgang Haffners’ Band and I couldn’t get over how great he sounded, and at such a young age ! We had an instant rapport on stage when we first played together .   He has already been making a name for himself in Europe and takes the Spy Killers !  to a whole new level of groove. 

Claus Fischer is a high in demand live and studio bassist from Germany. As a live bassist he was mainly known for his work as MD, bass player and guitarist of the band heavytones of TV total, in which he played from 2001 to 2004. In May 2004 he moved to the show Anke Late Night, where he was band leader of the “Electric Ladyband”. As a studio and live musician he worked with Stefan Raab, Chaka Khan, Larry Carlton, Lee Ritenour, Lionel Richie, Christopher Cross, and many others. In total, he has worked on over 300 CDs and about 800 TV programs.

We are going to play some hard driving funk, soul, and jazz infused rock. There are no limits with this group. Whether its fresh vocals or Instrumentals ,The audience will be able to feel the energy on every song. Nothing but “ no holds barred “ grooves.
